Frasi in inglese per principianti da sapere

Un ottimo modo per iniziare a parlare inglese è imparare alcune frasi standard, in modo tale da non dover pensare troppo alla grammatica. Questo ti permette di imparare rapidamente e di mettere in pratica molte frasi che puoi usare concretamente al lavoro e quando viaggi.

    = Di dove sei? - Sono di ...
  • How old are you? - I’m 35
    = Quanti anni hai? - Ho 35 anni
  • Are you married or single? - I’m single

Saluti in inglese

Rispondere alla domanda ‘How are you?’ (come stai?)

  •  I’m very well = Sto molto bene
  • I’m well / fine = Sto bene
  • I’m quite well / alright = Sto abbastanza bene
  • I’m not so bad = Non sto così male
  • I’m not very well = Non sto molto bene
  • I’m terrible = Sto malissimo
  • I’m tired = Sono stanco

Chiedere chiarimenti in inglese

  • I don’t understand = Non capisco
  • Can you repeat that, please? = Puoi ripetere per favore?
  • Can you spell that? = Puoi fare lo spelling?

Parlare al telefono in inglese

  • Hello? = Pronto? 
  • This is ... = Sono ... 
  • Can I speak to ... ? = Posso parlare con ... ?
  • Please hold (the line) = Per favore resti in linea

B: Hello. This is Paul from G&S Electronics. Can I speak to Ms Jones, please?

A: Certainly. Please hold.

B: Thank you.

Altre frasi utili

  • Excuse me? = Mi scusi? (Per attirare l’attenzione di qualcuno)
  • I’m sorry = Mi dispiace
  • How much is it? = Quanto costa?
  • How much are they? = Quanto costano? 
  • Thanks - You're welcome = Grazie - Prego

Chiedere indicazioni stradali in inglese

  • Where’s the ...? = Dovi si trova ...?
  • Go straight on = Vai dritto
  • Turn left = Gira a sinistra
  • Turn right = Gira a destra
  • Take the first left = Prendi la prima strada a sinistra
  • Take the second right = Prendi la seconda strada a destra
  • Cross the road = Attraversa la strada

Per esempio:

A: Excuse me, where’s the station?

B: Go straight on, then turn right at the end of the road. The station’s on your left.

A: Thanks very much.

B: You’re welcome.
